Film

A young cosmopolitan woman, consumed by the relentless pace and spectacle of fashion weeks, reluctantly agrees to housesit her aunt's isolated country mansion for the weekend. Accustomed to the noise and immediacy of urban life, she quickly finds herself restless and alienated by the vast, empty house and its surrounding grounds.

After discovering a mysterious note urging her to venture outside, she reluctantly leaves the confines of the mansion the following morning. Dressed for the city rather than the countryside, she wanders into the surrounding landscape and finds herself confronted by the immense beauty of the Yorkshire Moors.

As the landscape grows increasingly vast she experiences a feeling she has never encountered in her carefully constructed urban life: the sublime. In the presence of something immeasurably larger than herself,  she is overwhelmed by 'the fear of the sublime', a feeling rooted in Edmund Burke’s concept of aesthetic terror.
